Meet our administrator, Naomi Markle!
Naomi grew up in a musical household - dancing to her parents records & listening to her mom play the piano and her dad play the guitar. She briefly played the violin and then ultimately found a love for choir, which she participated in throughout middle school & high school in Long Beach, CA.
Naomi has dual degrees in Political Science & Mass Communications with a minor in Education from UC Berkeley. Her work experience includes Operations & Administration for national education company, personal assisting, nannying, & as an Assistant Manager for a large well-know retailer. She ultimately found her way to studying and teaching yoga.
Naomi met Ciara through one of her singer/songwriter students (a college best friend from Cal) in the early days of MMS & even attended several of the early Adult Winter Concerts as part of the audience. Over time, they became concert buddies, friends, and then eventually a team!
As MMS grew, Naomi stepped in to support Ciara and a small team of teachers in 2016. As the community continued to thrive, together they opened the Mission Studio in 2017, grew to as many as 10 teachers, and ran a bustling online offering during the pandemic that evolved into our current Online lessons offerings.
As of Fall 2022 she is also a piano/voice combo student, experiencing first hand the amazing support of the MMS community having performed at several open mics (through lots of nerves!)
In her free time she is a committed music lover - attending lots of concerts! Favorite venues include the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, The Fox Theatre in Oakland, & the Fillmore in SF.
Naomi is committed to supporting our talented students & incredible teachers with the goal to provide you with the best experience possible. She feels immense gratitude to be able to help MMS make more music in the world!
