MMS POLICIES

CANCELLATION POLICY

After your first lesson, you have 24 hours to cancel your commitment to your Yearly Lesson Track, try a different teacher, or switch your lesson type or track. After the 24 hr period, there will be no refunds outside of our 2 yearly De-enrollment periods.

While we do ask for your commitment to the full year of lessons, we understand that occasionally unforeseen circumstances arise. In the event that you are unable to continue your Yearly Lesson Track for any reason, you may de-enroll during our De-enrollment periods twice per year.

De-enrollment Periods:

  • Nov. 4th - 15th, 2024 - to de-enroll from lessons starting Jan 6th, 2025

  • April 14th - 25th, 2025 - to de-enroll from lessons starting June 16th, 2025

De-enrollment periods allow you to cancel your commitment to the Yearly Lesson Track. Your de-enrollment begins on the first date of the following semester. There will be no refunds for the current semester of lessons.

To request de-enrollment, please email us at info@mcallistermusicstudiosf.com during the De-enrollment windows. Once we receive your request, we will process your de-enrollment and cancel your automated subscription payments. We will confirm your de-enrollment upon completion.

Absolutely no refunds will be given for cancellation requests made outside of the de-enrollment periods.

We are committed to delivering you the highest quality musical experience that is inspiring, educational, and fun! In return, we ask you to give it a substantial try before cancelling your commitment. We are always here to help find a creative solution if you are dissatisfied with your lessons. Please don’t hesitate to reach out! You’d be surprised to hear how often a student was ready to quit, but then after working together to mix up the lessons, try a new style of music, or change teachers, etc, students were reinvigorated and continued on to find success and joy in their lesson experience!

MAKEUPS AT MMS

MMS students are eligible to receive 3 private makeup lessons per year for any reason.

In order to receive a makeup credit, students must notify MMS via the My Music Staff portal by canceling their lesson a minimum of 24 hours in advance. If the lesson is canceled prior to the 24 hr window, students will receive a makeup credit which can be used to schedule a future private makeup lesson. Makeups will be available during cancellations & can be scheduled on a first come first serve basis. Makeup credits will expire after 60 days.

All lessons cancelled within the 24 hr window will not be eligible for a makeup. No exceptions.

Additional cancellations aside from 3 per year are not eligible for make-up or rescheduling - please make every effort to attend your confirmed lessons.

There are no refunds or credits for unused makeups.

CHANGING LESSON FORMATS

If you choose Online Lessons, all lessons will be given online. Some teachers offer both Online & In-Person lessons (usually on different days of the week). If you are interested in switching all of your lessons to In-Person, please reach out and we can let you know what’s available either with your teacher or with another wonderful MMS teacher.

If you choose In-Person Lessons, students may request that specific lessons to be switched to online to accommodate travel. This is a great option for summer lessons! These requests must be approved ahead of time so teachers may prepare for this switch. Requests must be made 14 days in advance so we can prepare.* There will be no rate change for these switched lessons.

*In order to keep our teachers and community healthy, we ask that If you or your student have a fever or cough, stay home from school/work, or generally feel unwell, please reach out with as much notice as possible to inquire about switching to a zoom lesson for the day rather than coming in-person to your lesson. We will do our best to accommodate with enough notice.

SCHEDULE CHANGE REQUESTS

If your schedule changes at any point during the year, simply reach out and we will offer you any and all open time slots. *A different slot in your teacher's schedule is not guaranteed* however we will do our best to create a slot that works for you. This may be in a different teacher's schedule if no options are available in your teacher's schedule.

TUITION

Your yearly tuition includes:

  • weekly private lessons with your teacher

  • tailored curriculum guided by the incredible MMS teachers

  • opportunity for 3 private makeup lessons per year

  • Invitation to participate in our top notch performance events throughout the year

  • A thriving and supportive Community, both in person + online

LOCATION

In-Person Lessons will take place at MMS Mission 3280 22nd Street, Unit A, San Francisco, CA. Online Lessons will take place via Zoom.

PAYMENT

Payment will be made via automated billing in My Music Staff. $250 Registration/Admin Fee (Non-Refundable) to be charged at registration. My Music Staff will invoice and automatically charge once per month (15th) for the upcoming month of lessons, starting 8/15/24.

Event Fees will be included in your 8/15 invoice. *For Recording Sessions, $300 Deposit will be charged 8/15, balance to be charged 1/15/25. (All Recording Session Fees are Non-Refundable) For Children's Recitals, Event Fee will be charged 1/15/25

NO SHOW POLICY

Out of respect for our teachers' time, if you miss 3 lessons without notifying us ahead of time, we reserve the right to remove you from our schedule in order to open up your slot to another student. We will notify you via email prior to this happening and offer you the opportunity to continue your lessons by letting us know you'd like to keep your slot. If you are removed from our schedule due to lack of communication on your end, no refunds will be given.

TEACHER ABSENCES

Teachers make every effort to be at each lesson. However, things do come up. If a teacher has to be absent for your lesson, we will provide a substitute teacher for that lesson. We urge you to be open and see this as a rare opportunity to work with another excellent teacher. We will not give refunds for lessons at which a substitute is provided. All teachers are trained with Ciara and the MMS curriculum and each offer different skill sets. Variety with your teacher can provide a new fresh insight and re-inspire your lesson experience! In the rare event that we are unable to find a sub, or in case of emergency, MMS may need to reschedule or cancel a lesson. We do our best to avoid this but if it does occur, we will refund or credit the tuition balance for all cancelled lessons.

PHOTO & VIDEO RELEASE POLICY

MMS often photographs and videotapes students for promotional use in both print and online publications and those of its partner organizations. Compensation will not be provided. All MMS students hereby agree to such use. If a student does not wish to give MMS permission to use photos & videos, please let us know at info@mcallistermusicstudiosf.com and we will be happy to comply.
