REGISTRATION, TUITION, & BILLING
for New Students
When you register, you’ll have the option to choose your yearly commitment:
Fall Semester ‘24 & Spring Semester ‘25
OR Fall ‘24, Spring ‘25, & Summer ‘25
We know that a lot can change in a year! So we offer 2 de-enrollment periods (Nov. & Apr.) where you can request to opt-out of the upcoming semester if need be .You can read more about year-round lessons here.
When you register you’ll have the option to choose which lesson format works best for you (In-Person at our Mission Studio or Online via Zoom). You can read more about In-Person vs. Online Lessons here.
When you register you’ll have the option to choose which events you want to participate in (both In-Person & Online).You can view the calendar for more details about Semester Dates, Holiday Closures, & Events.
Your lessons include access to a student portal through My Music Staff which we primarily use for it’s payment and scheduling functionality.
To Register, you’ll complete a registration form with your lesson & event preferences as well as your availability to accept lessons. You’ll be asked to pay a $500 deposit (per student) which will be applied to your first month of tuition & fees.
You’ll be sent information to create a login to access the student portal & then you’ll also receive a follow up email offering options based on the student, lesson type, lesson format, and lessons that match your availability. You’ll have 24 hours to reply to confirm/accept. If we are unable to match you with a lesson time, we will refund your deposit.
Once lessons are confirmed, recurring payments will be billed automatically on the 15th of each month for the month in advance. You’ll be required to set up “Auto Pay” with your payment method of choice. (Credit card payments will incur a 3% Service Fee & ACH payments will incur a 0.8% Service Fee)
Total Tuition will vary based on teacher, lesson format, lesson length, # of lessons (based on start date & summer enrollment), as well as any events you select.
Hourly Rates vary by teacher and lesson format (online or in-person) & tuition includes some Registration/Admin & as well as Event Fees (depending on what you select).
Monthly Tuition Amount will vary based on the number of lessons planned to occur. avg 4/5 lessons per month, some months of 2/3 lessons based on holiday closures or unavoidable cancellations by MMS due to teacher illness or emergency where we are unable to provide a guest teacher.
Lessons cancelled by MMS will be credited towards the next month’s tuition. Lessons cancelled by the student for any reason will still be invoiced/charged and the teacher will be paid. If cancelled with more than 24hours notice, student will receive up to 3 make-up credits per year that can be used to schedule a private make-up lesson when openings arise.
Registration & Admin Fee as well as In-Person Events Fee (for Open Mics) will be included with the 1st monthly invoice. Other Add-On Event Fees will be invoiced in the semester that they occur (1st invoice/Jan 15th or as specified for Recording Sessions).
Your 1st invoice will be created/autopay as soon as a specific lesson is confirmed. Recurring Invoices/Autopay will be charged on the 15th of the month for the month in advance.
