Summer Semester 2022 Make-up Classes
Students are eligible to make-up missed lessons by attending our Summer Make-up Classes.
Track 2 & 3 Students are eligible for 6 make-up classes throughout the year, to be used at any time. If you are unsure about how many make-up classes you have remaining, please email Naomi and she will be happy to confirm for you.
NEW Summer Students are eligible to for 2 make-up classes as needed.
Classes are small (limit ten), intimate, and packed full of inspiration. This is a rare opportunity to learn from any one of our MMS pros (you don't have to attend a class with only your teacher!) on piano, voice, songwriting, beat making, jazz, and more!
Please take advantage of their expertise by joining any class that interests you & works with your schedule! You don't have to wait until you've missed your lesson. If you know you are going to be absent, simply sign-up using the link below! Classes are on a first come first serve basis!

Saturday, 6/18 at 10:00 AM PT Adult Piano - Improvisation** with Roziht
Come and improvise together! Be sure to bring any questions you have relating to improvisation. After, you can look forward to combining everything you have learned into your own one-of-the-kind music!
Friday, 6/24 at 7:00 PM PT Adult Voice - Belcanto Technique with Natalie (open to all lesson types)
Come and learn more about the immortal Italian vocal technique, Belcanto. Learn exercises and songs that will help improve the sound of your voice as well as tricks that will boost vocal flexibility. All genres and styles of vocalists welcome! Come and learn how Belcanto is a foundation for demonstrating the incredible abilities of your voice.
Thursday, 7/7 at 7:00 PM PT Jazz Piano** with Andrew
In this class we'll take a deep dive into building your arsenal of pro-level jazz chord voicings. We'll explore how to make a chord sound more colorful, warm and spread-out and go over different contexts for how different types of chord voicings are used.
Wednesday, 7/20 at 6:30 PM PT RnB Piano** with David
Let’s get together and play some soulful piano grooves! In this class we will explore some common chord progressions and techniques used in playing RnB/Soul music on the piano. We will break down the chords & melody from a well known song, then work on creating our own original melody while playing a chord progression.
Friday, 7/22 at 7:00 PM PT Sightreading for Voice with Natalie (open to all lesson types)
Join Natalie for this voice class focusing on sight reading. Any and all styles are encouraged! Primarly geared towards voice or piano/voice combo students but piano students are welcome too!
Thursday, 7/28 at 6:30 PM PT Songwriting/Composing with Bobby (open to all lesson types)
In this class we'll use a stock pop chord progression as a background to focus on lyrics. Starting with a theme, we'll brainstorm some quick words and phrases and have a Verse and a Chorus within the hour. A great way to look at how quick and painless writing can be!
Thursday, 7/28 at 7:00 PM PT Adult Piano** with Andrew
Join Andrew and your fellow MMS pianists as we workshop your pieces and give you an opportunity to play in front of others. You'll have a chance to receive feedback on your piece and give constructive feedback to others in this miniature "masterclass".

Friday, 6/17 at 5:30 PM PT Play & Sing: Encanto with Lizzie (all levels & lesson types, ages 7 & up)
Come and sing and play some of your favorite songs from Encanto! All levels of piano and voice are welcome to join in on the fun!
Thursday, 6/23 at 6:00 PM PT BYOP: Bring Your Own Pet Piano with Elizabeth (piano, piano/voice combo, piano/mp combo ages 7 & up)
Hey all you cool cats and kittens! Join MMS Teacher Elizabeth and her two cats for a super fun feline-themed group piano class. Please be prepared to play a song you're workng on and Elizabeth will give you feedback in class. All friends (furry and otherwise) welcome!
Wednesday, 6/29 at 6:00 PM PT Beat Making for Kids with David (all levels & lesson types, ages 7 & up)
Hey everyone, let's make some beats together! In this class you will need to have a DAW (Music production software such as Ableton, Logic, or GarageBand) of any kind already installed on your computer. We will learn about some of the different things we can do using that software such as record music and create beats. I'm looking forward to helping you get started with making your own beats!
Thursday, 7/14 at 6:00 PM PT Children’s Piano with Elizabeth (piano, piano/voice combo, piano/mp combo ages 7 & up)
This class will be a fun time of sharing a song you are working on and also learning a new popular tune!
Friday, 7/22 at 6:30 PM PT Songwriting with Anna (all levels & lesson types, ages 7 & up)
In your upcoming Songwriting for Kids class, Anna will take you and your fellow students on a light hearted journey through the songwriting process where you will write a song together! The class will learn a classic chord progression and use a gamified approach to write lyrics and melody collaboratively using a format inspired by MadLibs. Bring your instrument of choice or just your voice, something to take notes with and your imagination!
Friday, 7/29 at 6:30 PM PT Children’s Piano with Anna (piano, piano/voice combo, piano/mp combo ages 7 & up)
Bring a piano piece that you are working on and get a chance to share it with Anna and your fellow MMS students! In this Show and Tell style class you will get a chance to show us your piece, and tell us what you like about it and what you might find hard about it too. With the support of the group we can help solve problems and make new friends too!
Friday, 8/5 at 5:30 PM PT Summer Camp Songs with Lizzie (all levels & lesson types, ages 7 & up)
It's Summer! So come and learn a few silly and fun Summer Camp-style songs to sing or play on your piano. All levels of piano and voice students are welcome to join.
MMS MAKEUP CLASS POLICIES & GUIDELINES
Please arrive 5 min early to the Zoom room. Your teacher will open the class promptly at the start time.
Teachers will lock the zoom room after 5 minutes, so please don’t be late. There will be no refunds given if a student misses class due to being late.
When you arrive, please turn your cameras on and mute your microphone (no cameras off please).
Classes will be interactive and we ask that students be prepared to engage.
Please be seated at your instrument, just as you would for a lesson. Teachers may ask you to try specific things or share examples from your own practice.
Please be sure that your environment is free from outside distraction, background noise, etc.
