TUITION & POLICY UPDATES - INTRODUCING MY MUSIC STAFF
We are excited to introduce a new software called My Music Staff which will include payment and scheduling functionality (including make-up lessons)!
CHANGES TO MAKEUPS AT MMS IN 2023/2024
This year, students will be eligible to receive 3 private makeup lessons per year for any reason.
In order to receive a makeup credit, students must notify MMS via the My Music Staff portal by canceling their lesson a minimum of 24 hours in advance. If the lesson is canceled prior to the 24 hr window, students will receive a makeup credit which can be used to schedule a future private makeup lesson. Makeups will be available during cancellations & can be scheduled on a first come first serve basis. Makeup credits will expire after 60 days.
All lessons cancelled within the 24 hr window will not be eligible for a makeup. No exceptions.
Additional cancellations aside from 3 per year are not eligible for make-up or rescheduling - please make every effort to attend your confirmed lessons.
There are no refunds or credits for unused makeups.
CHANGES TO TUITION & BILLING IN 2023/2024
Your yearly tuition includes:
Weekly private lessons with your teacher
Tailored curriculum guided by the incredible MMS teachers
3 makeup lessons per year (if canceled prior to the 24 hr cancellation window)
Invitation to participate in our top notch performance events through the year
A thriving and supportive community, both in-person + online
To Register, you’ll be asked to pay a $500 deposit (per student) which will be applied to your first month of tuition & fees.
Recurring Payments will be billed automatically on the 15th of each month for the month in advance.
You’ll be required to set up “Auto Pay” with your payment method of choice.
Credit card payments will incur a 3% Service Fee
ACH payments will incur a 0.8% Service Fee.

Clarification on '23-'24 Yearly Lesson Tuition
While we did change how we explain/breakdown the fee structure, the overall pricing has not changed substantially from '22-'23 Lessons.
Instead of Lesson "Tracks", we've simplified the options to allow you to customize your lessons based on what works best for you. (Fall & Spring vs Fall, Spring & Summer with the option to add any/all events that interest you/your student) Among other things, this means that students who can't commit to summer lessons can still participate in the winter concert or recital!
Specifically addressing Registration/Admin & Event Fees:
Last year, event/admin fees were rolled into the total tuition and we didn't specifically break things down - instead listing a yearly price and subsequent installment amounts.
This year, total tuition will be divided into more monthly payments instead of fewer larger installments in the hope that this will help make things more manageable as well as more clear & transparent. Some students will actually end up paying less in admin/event fees with this change!
We have needed to raise our hourly lesson rates slightly (approx. 5% for most students). This ends up being about a $15-30 increase per month per student for most students.
